The Plot Thickens....

The Plot thickens and so does my readership!!!!
Its raining here again in paradise... Day 4 and its starting to get to me... ugh... My shoulder isnt good enough to surf 6ft sunset and even if i did, all the septic tanks have been overflowed for a couple of days now and it would be terrrible to get staff yet again!
i was wishing i could be skating this ramp of shane beschens... but need to heal up for 2 more weeks before i can skate.....

SO....... Here is a letter from an aspiring artist.. Feel free to hit me up with any questions, comments or concerns you might have!

Hello Jon Steele

I’m still in high school and I live in a small town in the middle of a corn field (aka Indiana) but the odd thing is that I have a love for surfing. I also love taking pictures and taking pictures of my friends doing bmx. Seeing you doing what you love and having fun with it inspires me to do that same. I would just like to know if you have the time, what did you do to make it to were you are and how did you do it? Thank you for reading this and keep doing what makes you happy.

Aloha Kyle!!!

Thanks for your question and appreciate u checkin out my work and glad it inspires u!!!
BMX is fun and a great subject to shoot.. gett good at that and it carries over to any high speed action sports.. ie.. skating, motorcross etc..

I sacrificed alot to make the life i wanted to live... I am blessed to have a lot of help and support from my friends and family.
It is a long lonely trip but it is very rewarding and i dont have a boss telling me what to do.
I went to film school and from there just kept shoooting my friends doin thier stuff (whether it be surfin/ skate/ moto / models)
I went out and chased every job i could and didnt take "no " for an answer!
I surrounded my self around positive people who wanted to make a difference and who loved thier art...

I think u know what to do, you stated it yourself.. Keep doin what makes u happy and the rest will fall into place...
Hard work and ur love for ur work will be prevelent and people willl take notice..
Don't sell urself short, be proud of the work u create and keep a positive mental attitude to become the best in ur field..
You might have to work the shittiest jobs just to make ends met while ur honing in ur skills but the payoff is well worth it...

Hopefully this is some information u can use to progress ur career as a artist. and dont worry bout living in the middle of no where... Everywhere is somewhere, just a stepping stone. My career wouldnt be goin so well if i didnt come from a little town in Texas. :)

Good luck and feel free to hit me up and keep reading my blogs.
Aloha!!!

Moving along for the day... I have been very blessed to be working with Proctor Surfboards and Tamayo Perry for an upcoming project... Brandon Bunting picked up some slack as second camera and got a few shots of us working as well! Good times and great surfer... check it out!
