Texas Revisited

Catchin up over a cup of Joe this morning.. surf is firing and im waiting on new boards and I gotta take my truck in to get looked at.... oh well.... it happens....my life is pretty amazingly awesome so i dont mind missing a swell here or there... here is another little recap from my Texas trip..

Friends and Good Times Influenced by Surfing

Probably wont blog for a day or so.. working in the yard on art, surfing out front.. swell running and meeting up with old friends for new adventures... here are some old adventures.... Russ Hennings and I working the SG Mag contests. Scott Starr and I meeting up years later at ASR show. I miss the 420 house so bad.... Such good times and great roomates! Christian Wach gets a blue gill and a cheater five in Texas... I use to be able to surf this wave by myself all the time.... So blessed...

So stoked to surf with friends and fun to see Boothy enjoying Texas..

Fun waves early this morning but got shut down early.. could have been all time if the wind would have backed off... Oh well.. Suring with trunks and good friends!!!! can't beat it...

Texas!!!!!

One of the first surf magazines I ever picked up had a feature on Texas and I stared for hours at photos that ranged from mustard colored to downright brown. Since that time I've always appreciated those types of waves...a little bit ugly, a touch unsightly with froth, and definitely full of sand and foam.

(As I've never actually been to Texas myself, I'll be tagging this one with the name of a photographer who absolutely digs the Lone Star State, Jon Steele. Jon, does this water color even remotely reflect what you'd find back home or have I been thinking the wrong thing for the past 30 years?)

Dead On brother!!!! It's about finding that shimmering part of the wave in Texas that fuels soo many Texans love for surf!!! It might not be the biggest curl, but it's a curl! It might not be the prettiest wave, but there is always something beautiful about em!! ;) Great shot! Jazz the Glass!!!

I was blessed to see Dr. Terry Romine with the help of my friend EG and Sector 9... Bless them all!!!
I would have been walking on it for months to come as i thought it was healing.... That could have gotten bad fast!!
4 weeks in a boot and healing up.. UGH... Oh well, comes with the territory and makes ya stronger..

So the surf is absolute firing ...... in California....
I'm in Texas NO WHERE NEAR the firing surf.....

haha.. but i did have a hard flight here, a rad nite with Jamie O'brian at the House of Rock.....
