Anne Flowers

Super Bummed to learn of the passing of Anne Flowers. :( She was my first photography teacher at Del Mar and I was able to learn and grow my art in her class. She later hired me several times to guest lecture at the college.... I'm terribly sad but know she is in a better place.... Gonna go out and shoot one of my best photos to date today in memory of her.... Aloha Anne and thanks for EVERYTHING!! :(......... I'm actually wearing a photo patch on my sweatshirt that I shot and printed in her class years ago.. probably 1995.

Whitlock Compound

Ran over to the Whitlock compound yesturday to blow off some steam and get some exercise on the ramp.... IF ya don't know they are in Carlsbad and a great surfshop, screenprinter, SUP lessons/Surf, mini skatepark, art hub and bad ass compound.. It's like being at Peter Pan's Lost boys house.. hahahah.. good times and ran into long time friend Kevin and Kyle grom who I use to run skate lessons with. So blessed to run into them and share some stoke... didn't get my ollie to wall ride as high as I would like but this old man needs to stretch more before nailing that old trick down... Plus i needed someone to skate with..I skated this by myself.. had a blast but know there are TONS more lines to be had... So hit me up if ya wanna go check this spot out...

Work and Surf

Its fun to surf all the time.. I do like to work.... There are certain kinds of work i prefer... I like doin art in the front yard in the sun after surfing... Harry the dog earned a couple of metals for his work in Afghanistan.... cool... way cool!!! glad I got to go surf with my buddy in San Diego yesturday. blogger is messing up and making it look like i only do run on sentences that randomly are strewn across my page so i apologize for that til i figure it out.. hahah.. Pivot the dog and I have been holding down the Sector 9 team house.. (hence all the boards I get to paint.. thanks gang!!) But it has been a great weekend chilling with my furry friend and surfing out front and skating to get beer then lurking in the hottub..... cool.... heres to another upcoming week!! :)

Friends and Good Times Influenced by Surfing

Probably wont blog for a day or so.. working in the yard on art, surfing out front.. swell running and meeting up with old friends for new adventures... here are some old adventures.... Russ Hennings and I working the SG Mag contests. Scott Starr and I meeting up years later at ASR show. I miss the 420 house so bad.... Such good times and great roomates! Christian Wach gets a blue gill and a cheater five in Texas... I use to be able to surf this wave by myself all the time.... So blessed...

Hot Springs and Waterfalls

John Lotterer

John.. or JL as he was known by friends passed away recently.. There was a paddle out at Salt Creek for him on Sunday of last week.. I was unable to make it but it looked like a great showing.... I was editing tons of photos lately and getting some surf... i came across this photo JL shot of me while on the North Shore one year... good times.... miss ya bud!!

New York City

Sooo Stoked!! Had an amazing trip to NYC this past week... Got to skate this spot.... Got to take this kids portrait....and skate with the kids... it was rad.. Had an amazing place right next to New York Times. I missed the Empire State building the first time i visited... stoked.... Got to hook up with my friend Kenny Zimlinghaus and have a great nite of comedy. A couple slices of Pizza went down this weekend as well as a cool view from my hotel room..
