4 Wheelin

So during our trip we got stuck in a mudhole.... we dug our selves out and the local family came out and contributed greatly to getting us out....
We would have been there alot longer if not for them.. Truly appreciative and kicked down $40 for the help..
I think we entertained the whole town as we drove humbly back.....

Last Day

Last day here..
Great shoot last nite....
Had a great trip... ready for a hot shower and clean clothes..

RAIN

Rain delay!
Rain yesturday and today.. Electricity comes and goes... internet is worse..
Shot some beautiful bikini stuff in the rain though..

Nica Update

Day #1
just arrived in nicaragua the flight was fun and i got some sleep...
hustling to finish the job for CBS which was a fun. Surf was good today when we arrived... Nice to surf in warm water and trunks.. it was beautiful to watch the face of the wave fold for 4-5 seconds and remain open in the sunset... i like being inside the tube...

Reflecting on the surf Garrett walks up with a scorpion on his face.. One time i wish i had a camera.. pretty funny.. it didnt have the stinger attatched but it was cool none the less...

I like the area and after a good meal and shower its nice to chill and relax..
it's only 8pm but its late for me as the surf will be up for the next couple of days and the sleep on the red eye flights was pretty nonexistant..

Its cool to see the volcanos as u fly in..
Evening session was fun and I got a great 4-5 second barrel ride.. woohoo

DAY #2
Surf the beach break til it got walled and closed out with the low tide..
Still fun and got a few real good barrels .. I like Nicaragua and the offshores all day..
Surfed fun little reef break in the evening with just the crew.. Nice to be in trunks..

DAY # 3
You have NO idea.....
Colorado was a mission today... AXLE deep in mud.. real mud...
after we dug ourself out after an hour of running through the cow fields looking for mushrooms and sticks to put under our tires... sticks need i remind u that would have scorpions underneath them...

Now i have cuts on my arm and hand and waiting to see what happens..
at least it was clean mud... as in natural mud... not really cow shit or runoff...

Day #4
After Banana pancakes and eggs i am exhausted .. short internet excursion to send off an invoice and check a few emails.. Garrett McNamarra got the sickest pit!

shot some beautiful stuff with Danielle.. 3 different setups and some lineup shots with the boys towing, paddling and SUP'in in!!

a great lightning storm last nite
a quick nap and we are back out there. .
Fun evening waves followed by an authentic nicaraguan chicken dinner with amazing rice and beans by our friends Joel and Beth. Stoked... good times..

So I was goin through some files yesturday and found this letter my grandfather wrote me when i first moved to California...
It is an important letter and is a great read..... I love the fact that it is addressed to me when i was working at the Church of Skatan.. Those were good times.. fun stuff...

I love my grandparents and miss them alot... they were always fun to be around and great people...


Wish i could have surfed today, i got lazy and was gettin ready for a job, then when it got good i didnt paddle..
Jen Smith showed up and paddled out... I love this girl.. she is so surf stoked.. Hopefully get a trip goin in August when we both get back from Travel...
South wind again this morning. Goin to work and it should improve... stoked..

I need to walk through the security gates at the airport and sit down and wait for my plane..
I will be so content once i get to gettin.......
I need to be on a beach and surf and a gorgeous bikini model to shoot...
can't wait to start clickin away!!
Surf picked up today but southwind will keep it at bay for a while.... Coffee and stretching and wrapping up some emails...
Surf was fun yesturday in Laguna and shitty out front but its ok....it was nice to surf twice and see some of the Texas boys who moved out here chasing their dreams! Stoked for them...

MORE and LESS

I need to do more of skateboarding and less of broading over this girl.. She is awesome and its my fault..
its tough, it hurts and not fun.... so i grab a pint and my skateboard and start bombing hills....
This is the last stretch home and its nice to get clocked goin fast after the pub dodging pizza guys... I know i can beat that. Will do some more runs tomorrow as i doubt u can get over a breakup in a day....

Can't wait to get to Nicaragua...
sooo stoked... i need a trip soooo bad...
i need to clear my head, shoot like a madman and get barreled like a fiend.....
I leave Sat. after a shoot and i am pretty darn stoked about it..
sorry life has just got me run down...I allowed a woman to get my emotions goin and now it has been affecting me..
I had a shitty dream of a plane crash i was in.... NOT STOKED on that....
I hope dream s dont mean something sometimes...

Got a fun quick job with SIMA today and then off to teach some of my favorite new Texans how to surf!!!
saw a gorgeous leopard shark yesturday and some Garabaldie..... made my day for sure...

Had a good ol time in the bread bowl the day before..
so much that i took a nap at 10:30-1pm haha.. my body was tired and sore....
Mike was skating sick... we had a good time and got a couple shots...
the wind is up and its' looking more like a skate day again today...

Mike and I have been paling around lately and it has been fun.... Getin some work done and listening to loud rock n roll..
made the right call yesturday after a short session at Lowers....Ran down to Sector 9 to skate and say hi to the gang...
Good times as the McCabe brothers from Ventura showed up and the we skated til bout 7pm... stoked.....
hope Jeff heals up soon with his broken vertebrae..... :( bummer about that....

Kelly Slater

Kelly is really a huge leap ahead of the rest of the pack...
you can tell by the speed he generates.... he is faster than the rest hands down....
His ariel surfin is pretty much insane as well...
I was lucky enough to catch up with him (thanks to jeremiah at Surfline) and bang out a few shots in the bad lighting..
But.... with a great subject the lighting takes the back seat!! hahah

Had a beer with Violet, Cindee and Mike Black today which is rare and rad at the same time...
nice to fill up after a SUP tour out to seal rock and chilling with pretty girls on the beach eating fruit....
sweet.. ahhahh.. my job is pretty awesome...

Rob Machado

Rob Machado is a good surfer... he is well rounded and flows very well with his surfing...
I like to watch him surf and shoot him as well..
I wouldnt call Rob and explosive surfer but he is classic and good..
Oside pier the other morning... good stuff...
